Ulli Richter has a passion for photography. Born in a small East German village on the Czech border, he was widely travelled as a child, accompanying his parents on travels to most countries in Eastern Europe. This fostered his interest in photography; particularly travel photography, which led him to develop a broad portfolio of architectural work.

But this was just the beginning. A keen learner and connoisseur of life's experiences, Ulli sought a freer form of photographic expression. With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 came fundamental changes in his personal life. Having previously been confined by the restraints of a communist society, he was now free to venture into more challenging territory.

Ulli moved to London in 1995 and today his professional work in advertising and editorial encompasses aspects of the fascinating world of subculture. He applies the highest standard of traditional skill to produce images with a darker undertone whilst catering to the requirements of a commercial project...

'Photography is like a ritual and I consider myself fortunate to be allowed such deep insight into the soul of many an amazing individual!'
